Description
Item HS1826 – For bid is this Historic example of Art and Architecture from the World’s Columbian Exposition 1893. Pictured here for sale is book IV of the XI Book Set. Created by William Walton, the book was published in Philadelphia in 1893 by George Barrie. It is hardcover and filled with extravagant full color and black and white illustrations. The antique book is in fair condition as many of the pages have come loose from the spine; however, the plates are in good shape and the tissue paper separating the plates, remains intact, in most instances if not all. The illustrations are so impressive you will have a difficult time deciding whether or not to leave the book as it is or frame the prints individually. Be prepared to be awed.
Dimensions are approximate: 22 inches L x 17.75 inches W x 0.75 inches D
Weight is approximate: 2.2 lbs.
As noted in the title, this is the first (Volume IV) of the Complete XI Book Set being offered for auction. All 11 books will be auctioned separately during the upcoming months. If this series is of interest, please feel free to email us and we will be sure you are notified of upcoming sales.
